North Carolina's Leading Telepsychiatry Practice Delivering Same-Day, Evidence-Based Mental Health Care

About Pinnacle Behavioral Health

Our mission is simple: remove barriers to mental health care by offering fast, accessible, and patient-centered telepsychiatry across North Carolina. We believe that geography, long wait times. Limited local resources should never stand between a person and the psychiatric care they need.

Pinnacle was founded because North Carolina lacks enough mental health providers. This is especially true in rural and smaller communities.

Many patients wait weeks or months for a new patient appointment, or must drive long distances to see a psychiatrist. We set out to change that.

We are a 100% telehealth practice. We serve patients anywhere in NC by secure video. No in-person visits are needed.

Our providers regularly have same-day and next-day availability, allowing us to meet patients where they are — literally and figuratively — and provide timely, respectful, evidence-based psychiatric care.

Our Mission and Care Approach

Pinnacle is a telehealth mental health practice based in North Carolina.

Our team consists of board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) who are licensed to diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medications, and provide comprehensive psychiatric care.

We treat ADHD, anxiety, and depression in adults. We also treat bipolar disorder, PTSD, insomnia, and other mood conditions.

Our providers work collaboratively with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, psychoeducation, care coordination, and referrals to therapy when appropriate.

We are committed to serving patients from all backgrounds, including those with commercial insurance, Medicaid, and those who pay out of pocket.

We accept a wide range of insurance plans and offer transparent self-pay pricing starting at $179 for an initial evaluation, so that cost is not an additional barrier to care.

We serve patients across all 100 counties of North Carolina. We focus on communities that have lacked local mental health options. This includes rural counties and smaller cities.

Our Values

These principles guide every clinical decision and patient interaction at Pinnacle Behavioral Health and Wellness.

Speed of Access

We know that when someone needs psychiatric care, waiting weeks or months is not acceptable. We built our practice to offer same-day and next-day appointments as standard — not as an exception.

🌐

Statewide Reach

North Carolina is a large, diverse state with many rural communities that lack local mental health providers. Our 100% telehealth model means we can serve patients from Asheville to the Outer Banks, from the mountains to the coast.

🤝

Patient-Centered Care

Every treatment plan at Pinnacle BHW is tailored to the individual. We take time to understand your history, your goals, and the factors shaping your mental health — and we involve you as a full partner in your care.

🔬

Evidence-Based Practice

Our providers follow current clinical guidelines and research when making treatment recommendations. We stay up to date with advances in psychopharmacology to ensure our patients receive the most effective, up-to-date care available.

💬

Transparent Communication

We believe patients deserve to understand their diagnoses, their medications, and their treatment options. We explain our clinical reasoning clearly and encourage questions at every appointment.

🏥

Continuity of Care

Mental health treatment is not a one-time event — it is an ongoing relationship. We prioritize long-term follow-up care, medication monitoring, and proactive outreach to keep our patients on track.

What Makes Pinnacle BHW Different

There are many telehealth platforms and psychiatric practices in North Carolina, but Pinnacle Behavioral Health. Wellness stands apart in a few important ways.

First, we prioritize speed of access. Most psychiatric practices have new patient wait times of 4–12 weeks. We regularly offer appointments within 24–48 hours, and same-day availability is not unusual. We understand that mental health crises do not follow a schedule, and we have built our practice operations to accommodate urgent needs.

Second, we are genuinely statewide. Many telehealth services claim statewide reach but focus on big cities. We serve small towns, rural counties, and mountain communities too.

Third, we maintain a personal, relationship-based approach to care. Our patients are not numbers in a system. You will see consistent providers who know your history and are invested in your progress. We do not rush appointments or limit follow-up care.

Fourth, we are transparent about cost. We accept most major insurance plans, Medicaid managed care plans, and self-pay — with pricing posted openly on our website. No surprise bills, no hidden fees.

Conditions We Treat

Our providers evaluate and treat a comprehensive range of adult mental health conditions. Common conditions we see include:
