How Insurance Works for Telepsychiatry in NC

State law says most plans sold in North Carolina must cover video visits the same way they cover office visits.

So your co-pay and your other costs are usually the same as they would be for an office visit.

We check your plan before your first visit, so a bill never catches you off guard. Call us at (336) 828-2599. We will confirm what your plan covers and tell you what you will owe before you come in.

Do not see your plan on the list? Call us. We add new plans often. You can also pay on your own if you have no insurance, or if you would rather not use it. The first visit is $179. Later visits to check on your medicine are $99.

Understanding Your Psychiatric Billing

We bill your visits with standard codes that every insurance plan knows. They are called CPT codes. These are the ones we use most:

  • CPT 90792 — Your first visit. A full review of your health, 45 to 60 minutes.
  • CPT 99213 / 99214 — A later visit to check on your medicine, 15 to 30 minutes.
  • CPT 99205 — A longer first visit, for a more complex health history.

Your plan mails you a summary called an Explanation of Benefits. It lists these codes, what the plan paid, and what you owe. Questions about a bill? Call our office at (336) 828-2599.

Referring Providers: How to Send a Referral
