Therapy as Part of Your Psychiatric Care
Our psychiatric nurse practitioners combine supportive therapy with medication management in the same visit, by secure video anywhere in North Carolina.
Looking for therapy only?
We do not currently offer standalone or intensive therapy, such as weekly counseling or EMDR. We are looking to add a therapist to our team.
If you need therapy only, call (336) 828-2599 and we will help point you in the right direction.
What Therapy With Us Looks Like
Each visit is a conversation with your provider, not only a medication check. Along with reviewing how your treatment is working, your provider can spend time on what is happening in your life and how you are coping.
Supportive counseling
Space to talk through stress, mood and daily challenges during your visit.
Coping strategies
Practical steps for managing symptoms between appointments.
Medication and therapy together
Your treatment plan covers both, so you do not have to explain everything twice.
Coordination with your therapist
Already seeing a therapist? We can work alongside them when you ask us to.
We treat ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma-related symptoms and more. Insurance and Medicaid are accepted; see insurance and pricing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer therapy?
Our psychiatric nurse practitioners provide supportive therapy as part of your visit, alongside medication management. We do not currently offer standalone or intensive therapy, such as weekly counseling sessions.
Can I see you for therapy only, without medication?
Not at this time. We are looking to add a therapist to our team. If you need therapy only, call (336) 828-2599 and we will help point you in the right direction, or search your insurance plan directory or a therapist directory such as Psychology Today.
Do you provide EMDR or trauma-focused therapy?
No. Our nurse practitioners can evaluate trauma symptoms and manage medication, but we do not currently offer EMDR or other intensive trauma therapy.
Is therapy during my visit covered by insurance?
Supportive therapy is part of your psychiatric visit, and coverage depends on your plan. Call (336) 828-2599 or use our insurance checker and we will help you verify your benefits.
Can I use both a therapist and your psychiatric services?
Yes. Many patients see an outside therapist for weekly counseling and see us for diagnosis and medication management. We are glad to coordinate with your therapist when you ask us to.
